Cornea & Contact Lenses

Did you know that most people can wear contact lenses? Ask us if your eyes are suitable!

Did you know that nearly everyone can wear contact lenses? Ask us about contact lenses for short-sightedness, far-sightedness, astigmatism, presbyopia, children, orthokeratology, keratoconus, and corneal grafts!

Melbourne Eyecare Clinic prescribes a wide range of contact lenses from soft disposables corneal rigid gas permeable lenses, hybrid lenses to scleral lenses.

Most contact lens patients are managed in our Primary Care Clinic, while more complex cases are managed in our Cornea and Contact Lens Clinic. This includes specialty contact lenses prescribed for keratoconus, corneal grafts, orthokeratology, following refractive surgery and for paediatric patients.

The Contact Lens Clinic is staffed by highly experienced optometrists who have a high level of skill to customise the contact lens fitting for the individual patient and is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation.

We routinely monitor the stability of keratoconus to determine if corneal cross-linking treatment is necessary, and members of Keratoconus Australia are eligible for a discount on contact lenses.

While referral letters are not required to make an appointment, we do accept and appreciate referrals from optometrists or ophthalmologists for contact lens fittings. Please bring your current spectacles, contact lenses, a contact lens case, and any contact lens products that you may be using.
